This stunning minaudiére was designed and created by my father, Alex, as his representation of Fabergé’s Lily of the Valley egg (which was in the Malcolm Forbes collection). Thanks to the Forbes Foundation, Alex was able to study this stupendous work first hand in order to make his version of the Lilies.
I can tell you from experience, making one of these takes time, patience and a keen eye for detail. But, the outcome is always rewarding. I would venture to say this egg elicits more ooooh’s and ahhhh’s than any other minaudiére in the Vivian Alexander collection.
As luck would have it, I have 2 of these splendid vintage pieces!
